Denmark is ready with an action plan to meet the UN 17 global goals

05.04.2017  17:37

The world's countries agreed in 2015 to follow the UN 2030 agenda for sustainable development and the associated 17 global sustainable development goals.

The global goals aimes all countries and requires efforts from both public authorities, businesses and ordinary people. All relevant new Danish legislation will have to take stock of the 17 global goals.

Now Denmark is ready to reach the 17 goals with their new action plan. Denmark will focus on the goals where they have particular interests at stake, can seek active partnerships and create the best results.

The plan of action especially focuses on the people, welfare and prosperity and environment and climate.

Minister for Development, Ulla Tørnæs, launched the action plan d. 31/3 at a large reception in the UN city. "Denmark is at the forefront when it comes to sustainable development both in Denmark and in developing countries." She says.

The Danish finance minister will represent Denmark in July, when the momentum of the 17 global goals for the first time must be considered.
